PHINƠI at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi: A Christmas Fair to Remember

Every Christmas season, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi transforms into a different kind of Hanoi — warm lights, festive scents, and a timeless elegance that fills the air. This year, in the middle of the crowd strolling through the Christmas Fair, surrounded by hints of cinnamon and the sound of sleigh bells, PHINƠI had a little booth of our own. A place to tell our story — through hot cups of coffee, through our newest Phin designs, and through simple, heartfelt encounters between people.

Mention Metropole, and you think of heritage — over 120 years of French colonial architecture, a place that has welcomed presidents, artists, writers, and those seeking the most graceful face of Hanoi. The Christmas Fair here is unlike any other — no loudness, no excess — just quiet beauty, subtle luxury, and a kind of ritual that feels like the perfect beginning to the season. To be invited into that space, as a young brand like PHINƠI, was something we deeply valued. A chance to learn, to connect, and to see how our story resonates in a space rich with history and meaning.

Three Days of Coffee and Connection

For three days, PHINƠI teamed up with refined., bringing high-quality specialty coffee to the fair. Every cup was brewed on our Phin Hoa — a modern Phin redesigned for smoother, more consistent flow, able to brew both traditional and pour-over style coffee.

International guests were curious — they had never seen a Vietnamese Phin quite like this. Many Vietnamese families stopped by, drawn in by the familiar aroma of childhood but surprised by the Phin’s fresh look. Some were just passing by, tempted by the scent of coffee in the air — and ended up staying for the warm atmosphere and friendly conversation.

Two Little Holiday Treasures

At our booth, two items found their way into the most hands: the Phin Hoa and the Flower Tasting Cup.

The Phin Hoa caught many by surprise. For those used to the classic aluminum Phin, this lightweight, colorful version — capable of pour-over style — was a whole new experience.

The Cốc Hoa Nhỏ, the world’s first flower-shaped cupping and tasting cup, had a different charm altogether. Adorable, compact, and very… holiday. Some people laughed the moment they picked it up. Others bought it to gift a friend — "something truly Vietnamese, but also totally new."

In the festive glow of the fair, these small objects took on bigger meaning: little gifts of Vietnamese culture — simple, thoughtful, and memorable.

Our Christmas Gift

In the rush of year-end, to slow down — even just for a few minutes — and share the story of the Vietnamese Phin, right in the heart of a historical space like Metropole, was perhaps the best Christmas gift PHINƠI could have received.

Another holiday season has passed. And the journey of the Vietnamese Phin continues.
